I only know of four child portraits in the world which are painted by Henri Rousseau: “Child with Doll”, “Flower Child/Enfant deFleur”, “Child with Puppet”   and “Boy on the Rocks”.  (Also there was the “Portrait of a Baby”, which has only been seen in a photograph.)  Of course he did paint children in other paintings,  such as “The Baby’s Baptismal Celebration” and “The Abandoned Child”, etc.

NOTES:
(1) The “chubby” appearance of the arms and legs in some of the  portraits
(2)  In Flower Child he avoids the recurring problem of getting feet on the ground by not showing the feet at all.
(3)  The flower in hand: Rousseau loved the use and significance of flowers.
(4) Compare the hands and fingers.
